Fuse

A fuse contains a thin element that heats up and melts when too much current flows for long enough. That breaks the circuit.

A blown fuse cannot reset itself. Find the fault before replacing it with the correct type and rating.

The windmill’s fuse opens the path when a fault draws too much current, helping protect the wiring.
